About Trading Floor

Trading Floor is an independent newsroom covering markets, the economy, companies and the money decisions that reach ordinary balance sheets.

What we cover

We run two desks. The markets desk reports on equities, rates, commodities, currencies and earnings. The business desk covers the economy, companies, fintech and payments, regulation and personal finance. When a rate decision moves a mortgage and a bond market at once, both desks work the story together.

Who it is for

People who work in finance, people who invest, and people who simply want to understand what the numbers mean for them without being sold something. We explain terms the first time we use them, and we keep a glossary and a set of guides for everything else.

How we make money

Advertising and sponsored placements pay for the newsroom. Ads are labelled as ads, sponsored content is labelled as sponsored, and neither buys coverage or a review score. The detail is in our editorial policy.
